B.Ed

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.)

The B.Ed., course combines the practical training with knowledge in theoretical and empirical methods of teaching. The duration of the course is about two years after graduation. Opportunities for observation and practice teaching are provided in the Wesley Higher Secondary School, Emma Foulger School, the practising schools of the College and some other schools in the city.

Eligibility

Graduates of the University of Madras are eleigible for B.Ed., degree programme. Admissions of Graduates from other universities is subject to the approval of the TamilNadu teachers Education university.

M.Ed

Master of Education (M.Ed)

The M.Ed., course is designed to acquaint the students with theoretical and research content and train in research and study skills needed in advanced educational research and creative work. The duration of the course is about two years after the completion of B.Ed., course.

Eligiblity

Applicants who holds B.Ed., Degree of the TNTEU or an equivalent Degree in education or teaching of other Universities recognized by the TNTEU as equivalent there to are eligible for the M.Ed Degree.

M.Phil

Master of Philosophy (Education) – Co-Education. (M.Phil.)

The M.Phil., course offers opportunity to students pursue research and make an in-depth study of problems in educational areas.

Eligibility 

M.Phil., (Full time/Part time) Degree

A Candidate who has qualified for the Masters Degree in Education under the regulation of the TNTEU or the other University recognized by the TNTEU may register for the Degree of Master of Philosophy (M.Phill). The rules and regulations for registering for M.Phill., are given in the regulations of Tamil Nadu Teachers Eduaction University.

Ph.D

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)

The Ph.D., course is offered to candidates who are engaged in gainful research so that they can make a superior contribution to the development of educational principles, theoretical and practical.

Eligibility

Ph.D., (Full time/Part time) Degree

A Candidate who has qualified for the masters degree in Education or M.Phill. Degree in Education under the regulation of TNTEU or the other University recognized by the TNTEU is eligible to do research for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). the rules and regulation for registering for Ph.D are given in the regulations of Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University.

1. B.Ed. Proficiency Prize

Awarded to the B.Ed. student of this college who secures the highest marks in the theory part of the examination and passes the whole examination in the first appearance.

2. M.Ed. Proficiency Prize

Awarded to the M.Ed. student of this college who secures the highest marks in the theory part of the examination and passes the whole examination in the first appearance.

3. Prof. A.M. Satya Prize

Awarded to the B.Ed. student who secures the highest marks in the optional History in the first attempt.

4. Dr. Desraj Dhairyam Prize

Awarded to the most deserving student who is successful in curricular and extra-curricular activities in spite of his / her physical or economical handicap.

5. Prof. M.D. Devadasan Endowment Prize

Awarded to the B.Ed. student who passes the examination with highest aggregate score in the common subjects.
